A Song Made In Mexico
San Cristobal de las Casas was a really inspiring place for us as we wiggled through Mexico.
We stayed in a house share with a group of local Zapatistas (Zapatista Army of National Liberation) who were very active politically in supporting the indigenous people of the region.
‘Made in Mexico’ was inspired by them and their continual fight to stop the exploitation of their local people, to preserve their land, their crops and culture.
Made In Mexico
Made in Mexico
Mayan routes hold onto the youth that follows
Don’t lose it now, don’t lose it now
Stand on your head and get an upside down view, bottom to the top view
And listen to what would be said
Made in Mexico
Corn so sweet, what more do they need to swallow
Don’t lose it now, don’t lose it now
Stand on your head and get an upside down view, bottom to the top view
And listen to what would be said
You think that you have seen
You think that you have seen
You’ve seen it all
Dig up the truth and sing
And sing for all to hear and all to roar
Stand on your head and get an upside down view, bottom to the top view
And listen to what would be said
And listen to what would be said
