Jenni Veronica Garcia, Chilean Musician
Jenni Veronica Garcia is a talented Chilean musician. Her repertoire ranges from traditional Chilean folk, Brazilian bossa nova, Mexican Nueva canción, Spanish Flamenco and The Beatles.
Dada Jazz Club is located in the heart of San Cristobal Centro. Jenni performed there two nights back to back. We went along to watch her on the first night!
Below is a video of a song she performed called ‘Ska de la Tierra‘ (Ska Of The Earth) originally by the Spanish singer songwriter ‘Bebe‘. The lyrics speak of global awareness and the social and political problems in the world today.
Here’s a link to another video of Jenni performing with some other musicians in Peru.
Joining In The Fun
My very rubber arm was twisted behind my back to get up on stage and play. I performed three original songs, two from the Bell Pepper Jam album and a new one called ‘No Pasa Nada’ which I wrote in Michoacán aided by our new travelling guitar. Stay tuned for a proper video!
I was a little rusty, especially playing Jenni’s guitar which has a massive neck. The tone is beautiful (when she plays it), but it’s far too big for my little hands. I struggled to reach the chords and my voice felt a bit wobbly, but it was great to get back on a stage.
Sharing Music
Jenni very kindly wrote me out a list of music and artists she loves from Latin America and Spain. I can’t wait to get stuck into these. I hope you enjoy them too!
